You’ll have to be an early bird to catch the Avian Adventures in Migration tour at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter in Park City. Starting at 7:30 a.m. follow tour guide, Kenny Frisch for two hours while you watch the migration of birds in and out of the Park City Area.

Start off your Sunday off right with Park Silly Sunday Market and Street Festival on Lower Main Street in Park City. The market opens at 10:00 a.m. with the festival lasting until 5:00 p.m.

Monday, September 5th

Plan a day in Park City to enjoy all that the city has to offer for their Miners’ Day Celebration. Start in City Park with a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, ham, hashbrowns and more from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. $5 per person, children 4 and under eat free!

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. will be the Miners’ Day 5K, you can watch the start and finish from City Park, as the runners race in all kinds of fun costumes.

Next is the much anticipated, Running of the Balls. Much safer than the Running of the Bulls, you can ‘adopt’ a ball for $5 or 5 for $20 and set it loose at the top of Main Street at 10:45 a.m. All 10,000 balls are tracked down their route and the first balls through the chute will win their owners’ valuable prizes, such as season ski passes, hotel stays, dinners and many other great donated prizes. Sponsored by the Park City Rotarians this benefits other charity projects.

Once the balls clear, it is time for the Parade! The route runs the length of Main Street, before skipping over to Park Avenue and on down to Park City.

Noon kicks off the Cookout in the Park as well as live music, the kid’s race, the mucking and drilling competition, and finishing up with the skateboard bowl jam.

There is also a Labor Day Luau at Ashton Gardens in Thanksgiving Point. Dinner will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., a pre-show will begin at 7:00 p.m., with the main performance at 7:30 lasting until 8:45 p.m. Also Saturday and Monday is the Polynesian days from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Electric Park with booth and food vendors, and a volleyball tournament, and many other competitions to be held throughout the day.
